SACRAMENTO SPORTS PHOTOGRAPHY
Youth through elite, one athlete through national championships.
Whatever is happening, it happens once. My job is to be there, see it properly, and come back with it.
Based in Sacramento, photographing local fields, pools, courts, and families since 2020. I regularly photograph athletes in Roseville, Elk Grove, Folsom, Rocklin, Granite Bay, and across the greater Sacramento region.
You can't be in the stands and behind the camera at the same time.
You have the photos on your phone. The blurry one, the one that fired a second too late, the one that is mostly someone else's shoulder. You keep taking them because this matters, and every time you scroll back through you feel the same small gap between what you saw and what you got.
It isn't that you can't take a picture. It's that you are standing in the wrong place, holding the wrong lens, at the exact moment you should be watching your kid instead of a screen. And a season only happens once.
So you end up with a phone full of almost, and no record of the part you will actually want back.

No posing. No picture day. The real thing.
What I like about sports is the purity of it. Nobody is performing. People tell me they do not like how they look in photographs, but how you look when you are trying your hardest is the truest you get.
So I spend most of a game watching. I learn how one athlete moves and what they do without noticing, and then I go get it. The look between teammates. The tongue that comes out when they are concentrating too hard to remember anyone is watching. The face in the half second after it works.
The big play is the photo you came for. These are the ones you end up keeping.

I come to the games.
You commission me for a game, a tournament, or a stretch of the season, and I photograph it with your athlete in mind. I know who I am watching for, so I am not splitting my attention across a roster. Afterward you get the full gallery of your player, with nothing held back.
Good for: a season you want on record, club tournaments, championship runs, recruiting.
YOUR TEAM

When a coach, a booster club, or a group of parents organizes coverage for the whole roster.
I photograph the full story of the game rather than one player's version of it, and every family gets the gallery. Most teams split the cost between them.
Good for: club teams, high school programs, a season the whole roster wants covered.
YOUR EVENT

Races, tournaments, championships, governing bodies.
I photograph the events organizations produce and deliver work you can put to use the moment the day is over.
Good for: road races, multi-day championships, sanctioned competition.
Photographing a senior year? The Senior Storyline covers the whole thing, from the senior sunrise to the last walk off the field. It is planned a year out and ends in artwork, so it lives with the commissioned work.

What you're really asking is whether I'll deliver.
Anyone can show you one good frame. A great photograph shouldn’t depend on perfect light, perfect weather, or being first across the line. I bring the same care and consistency to every part of the race, and every person in it.
Your event happens once. There is no reshoot, no second finish line, and no way to explain to a sponsor that conditions were difficult.
That is the part I take seriously, and it is why organizations bring me back season after season.
What I Photograph
Youth sports is a large part of what I do and I love it. It is not the whole of it. I work with high school athletics, governing bodies, national championships, road races, and international competition, and photographing very fast adults is a different job from photographing kids.
Road races and running events. From the start corral to the last finisher, including the people the cameras usually leave once the leaders are through.
Tournaments and championships. Multi-day competition, from early rounds through the moments that decide it.
Teams and clubs. When a coach, a booster club, or a parent is organizing coverage for the whole roster.
Governing bodies and sporting organizations. The groups that sanction and oversee the sport, like USA Track and Field, where the work has to hold up to the standards your organization expects.
What I do not do is team and individual picture day, corporate events, conferences, and posed group photography. There are companies that do those well. I am here to actually photograph the athlete.

We talk through which of these matter most before the event, so I am shooting toward what you actually need.
What working together looks like.
1. Tell me what's coming up. A game, a tournament, a senior year, a race, a championship.
2. We make a plan. Which games or which dates, where I need to be, and what cannot be missed. Every event gets its own quote, because a one-day 5K and a three-day championship are not the same job. For larger events I bring in additional photographers from my own network.
3. I shoot. I capture the images regardless of the conditions while you focus on other things
4. You get your images. Fast. Getting work back quickly is one of the things I am known for, and I know how little use a photograph is to you three weeks later.

Game coverage is documentary. You hire me for the game, I photograph your athlete, and you get the full gallery back quickly.
A commissioned portrait is a different kind of project. We talk about who this person is, I design the picture, and afterward we decide together what becomes artwork for your home. It takes more of my time and more of yours, and it costs more. Both are real things to want.

Baseball, flag football, football, softball, soccer, swim, volleyball, basketball, gymnastics, and horseback riding, among others. Plenty of the families I work with have more than one kid in more than one sport. If you do not see your sport here, ask me.

For game, team, and event coverage, yes. You hire me for the day, I photograph it, and the full gallery is yours.

No. Lining up ninety kids for thirty seconds each is not what I do, and there are companies that do it well.

Yes, and most teams do. One parent usually coordinates and the families divide it between them.
